THANK YOU to our friends, family, community members, and the artists who joined together to celebrate the opening of our two new exhibitions, Super/Natural Creatures and Becoming Super/Natural.
Our deep gratitude goes out to Andrew Puglas, Trevor Matilpi, and the Ligwiltach Elders and Youth Culture Group dancers for welcoming us all into the space in a way that was truly memorable!

Super/Natural Creatures features the work of James Kwaksistala (Kwakwaka’wakw), Charles Jules (Nuu-chah-nulth), and Alexander J. Mark (Nuu-chah-nulth) who are based in Campbell River, alongside special guest artist Thomas Whiteley (Inuit, Kuujjuaq). Curated by Nadine Bariteau, the exhibition is the culmination of a three-year journey rooted in relationship building, mentorship, and deep mutual respect.
Running concurrently in the Satellite Gallery, ‘Becoming Super/Natural’ showcases artworks made by the participants of the 2026 carving and printmaking workshops led by James Kwaksistala, carver, and Nadine Bariteau, printmaker. For some participants, this was their first opportunity to carve, for others an occasion to reconnect with their traditions.
