Doris Ritchie

Doris Ritchie has been a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 1979. Early inspiration, she says, came with a class at the Banff School of Fine Arts. Subsequently, she studied in B.C., the U.S., England, and twice attended the art colony of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. She likes to sketch outdoors in watercolour, and also enjoys doing landscapes, florals, portraits and abstracts. She has won awards at several juried shows, locally and regionally.

Since moving to Campbell River in 1958, Doris has been an ardent supporter of the arts. She is a founder of the Campbell River Art Gallery, the Campbell River Arts Council and North Island College.
